Gender Reveal Party Look...

Hello and happy Thursday, Loves! I don't know about you, but this week has majorly flown by for me!
Last weekend we celebrated our little gal by having a small get-together for a little "gender reveal" party. Food, fun, family... lots of baby talk.

Did I mention cake??

We "revealed" the baby's gender by cutting the cake and revealing a pink or blue center. These type of cakes are SO fun. And delicious. To watch me cut the cake (and everyone's reaction at the party), check out my latest pregnancy update video below...

But on to the look I wore for the party...

Loved this dress. ...and the shoes?? Probably my favorite. I have them in black too and they are amazing! I went with the tan for this dress because the details on it are a bit more navy. I've also worn this dress without the little "tie" belt, and I think I may actually prefer it without. It doesn't stretch, so the belt got a little uncomfortable throughout the day.  This would be the perfect post-pregnancy dress as well (without the belt).  Loving that most of my "maternity" clothes can work either way!
Since the dress had a bit of a sequin detail around the top (you can see a bit better in the close-up shot above), I decided to skip heavy accessories and instead, opted for a few dainty layered pieces.

dress: A Pea in the Pod
bar necklace: Baublebar
round necklace: Dogeared "Karma" Pendant

Again, thank you all so much for being so excited right along with us as we share this wonderful journey! You all are the best.

  16. I was watching your 8/20 video and will leave a comment here because I didn't feel like signing up on utube. I agree that stretch marks are genetic and you will probably be fine since you mentioned your mom had none or few. I unfortunately can't base that on my genetics since I am adopted and my daughter hasn't had a baby yet. But, my skin is dry dry dry. I have never met anyone drier. I won't even mention the drastic things I have done to my face to get rid of the field of flakes so I could look decent in my makeup. Let's just say packing tape was involved, until my derm. told me I was making it worse by irritating my skin. Hey, desperate times! Anyway I didn't moisturize my belly when I was pregnant with either of my two children as well as I could have, maybe I thought I was doomed no matter what. But to my surprise, I have no stretch marks! Not one! I have friends that have beautiful skin and went over the top with moisturizing and ended up with large and many stretch marks. So, Lube up because it makes your skin feel so much better but I don't think anyone will change the stretch mark senario. It's been fun watching you be so completely excited about your new baby and the new experience you are having with this pregnancy. It does go by so fast! So, enjoy each moment, the easy and happy ones and even the not so easy ones, as your little girl will grow up fast as well. All the best to you and your family!

  17. Congratulations! You look beautiful and I'm so excited for you, can't wait to see the little one!
