Chocolate Bar Palette Tutorial & Review- Candied Violet

Hello and happy Monday, everyone!  I hope you all are having a great start to your week!

I've been loving my new Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette so much that I couldn't resist doing a look with it today for you all. I sort of combined this video with a small review for the palette as well, but since that was a bit brief, I thought we'd get a bit more in-depth here.  So after we talk all things Chocolate Bar Palette, be sure to check out the tutorial at the bottom of the post!

We'll start with the photos...

I actually love the packaging. It's metal and easy to open and close due to the magnetic closure. I prefer that rather than having a clunky snap closure *cough* Naked 2 and 3 palettes *cough*. Plus the outer little "chocolate bar" design is just too darn cute.

When you open the palette, the yummy cocoa powder, chocolatey smell is really apparent (one of the ingredients is actually real cocoa powder). It's not a gross, fake chocolate smell, but rather a really yummy scent that actually makes me look forward to opening it and using it everyday. It's just a fun little extra.

Inside, there are 16 individual colors, with a removable little transparent sheet with the shade names on it. I like that it totally removes.

Here's a better look at the shades...

I love the variety. I'll admit, when this first came out, I was intrigued (because we all know how I feel about good neutrals), but I resisted for a while. I'm SO happy I actually caved and picked one up. We all know I have a ridiculous amount of eye shadows and palettes, so even though I continue to purchase new ones and try them out, sometimes, even when the quality is amazing, I always feel like I can replicate them.
This one is different. For one, it has everything I need in one palette. Perfect shades of brown, perfect highlighting shades, gorgeous shimmery shades, and a few shades in colors that "pop". Aside from the color selection, the actual quality is wonderful.  And we all know how I feel about that intoxicating chocolate scent...

Here are some swatches...

Pretty right?? What do you guys think about this one?

So here is my first tutorial using this palette. There are SO many looks I want to share with this one. Look for another one coming up soon!

  4. I feel like this is a mix between the naked palettes. This is a great time to pick this up because Sephora is having a 15% off sale. I included the coupon on my post for those who didn't get it.

  6. I am a big fan of neutrals, they can really make or break or an eye look. I like the mix of iridescent and matte colors here, and especially the strawberry bon bon. Gorgeous! I have to ask what you use for lighting in your videos, it's just perfect!

  20. I have this palette and overall I really love it and use it almost every day. While the look you created in this video looks amazing on you I have found the candied violet shadow to be one of the most difficult shadows to work with. I find it to be incredibly chalky with horrible fallout and this is over a primer. The only way I can use it is to pack it on and then I look like I have too bruised eyes!

  21. I bought this as a gift for my roommate and she absolutely loved it. She loved it so much she convinced me to pick it up as well. I did a review on this on my blog as well!

  27. Hi Tiffany, I just wanted to let you know how well this look worked out. I was afraid that it would look a bit too dark on me, so I just used less product, but placed the colors exactly how you explained. The result is a soft, but still sultry look that is daytime appropriate. I am so happy with how it turned out and look forward to your next tutorial on this palette. xoxo
