Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Demo & Review

Hello and Happy Monday, Loves!
I'm excited to share with you all what has become a much-requested video recently...  A video allll about the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders.

I have a bit of an obsession with these. Not going to lie, I wasn't over-the-moon about them when I purchased my first. I look back and think that was probably because I was expecting some super bright highlight shade? I have no idea. What's strange is that while these may not be super bright or heavily frosted, they actually show up better than any highlight shade I've ever owned and cast the most flattering appearance.

Basically, they are the culprit behind my "glowing skin" of late. No babies yet, guys. ;)

Anyway, these are a super versatile product and come in a variety of shades, not so typical to the average "highlighting" powder. These are so much more. While certain shades work best for certain things, you can use them as an "all-over" powder, to highlight specific areas of the face, to "set" foundation or the under-eye area, and even to enhance bronzer and blush on your cheeks.

So check out my new video below for basically everything you'd ever need to know about these and a little demo showing how I use them.
If you want to see swatches and photos of the ones I own, check out my recent blog post HERE.

  12. Great video, I think you've inspired me to pick up diffused light next time I am ordering from Sephora! I have the palette and have been using dim light like it's my job. I think diffused light sounds like it might help with some of the redness that still creeps in, though.

  13. I got this while over in US couple of weeks ago and I use it every day now! The only shade I still quite have not get it is the shade for all over powder so the one on the left hand side. I think it is slightly dark for all over powder for my fair skin but I still tend to use it little bit on my cheeks, chin and nose. As for highlight and the bronzer shade, I like them a lot! Can't wait to watch your vid for additional tips! :)

  14. I picked up this Hourglass palette up a couple weeks ago per your recommendation, and noticed a difference in the appearance of my skin in photos. I even got several compliments on how pretty my skin looked in those photos. It does give you an extra glowy, luminous finish. Thank you so much for your recommendation. This palette is definitely worth picking up.
Can you also tell us what eyeshadow you used for this video? It's beautiful.

  17. I went into Sephora and was so close to buying this but after putting it on my face in the store I couldn't see a difference. Maybe I just need to bite the bullet and buy it because I want to love it so bad!

  18. I love your blog and videos! Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders have been on my wish list ever since you first mentioned them, but I can't seem to find any online shops that ships to Norway :(

I just wanted to say that I think you are amazingly talented, and I have learned so much from watching your videos.

  19. I use a very full coverage foundation (Kat Von D Lock it Tattoo Foundation) because I have capillaries that show so my face has a lot of redness. While that foundation is awesome for full coverage it is SO matte it comes off as cakey and a little mask-like. I've been looking for something to give that a glowy/dewey finish. Do you think the Luminous Light shade would work for all over my face?

Thanks for the helpful post! I think I shall watch your video a second time. ;)

  23. I love these they are beautiful and I have had them for a long time, even before Tiffany had them. That being said, the best way to explain them are they are like a veil glow all over the face. I use mine like an all over powder. They aren't necessarily a highlighting powder.

  24. I believe I've seen you use the Wet N Wild Bronzer with SPF 15 in color Reserve Your Cabana, I could be wrong though. Have you noticed if the Reserve your Cabana is a close dupe in finish to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light? Where it can be worn in the same fashion?? I haven't had the opportunity to try out the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder as it's a bit steep in price for me at the moment but was curious what you thought about the Wet N Wild being considered a "dupe" for the more expensive brand as some have claimed.
