I Got Gucci II for $4 Say Whaaaat?

I really hope Ulta isn't changing their rewards system any time soon. I've heard rumors that it's going to become more like a Sephora-type system, where you redeem little "sample" type items immediately when you reach certain "levels".
I'm not a fan of that.
I like my $40 credits for fragrances. A lot.
This quarter, I actually earned enough points for... get ready for it.... $80 toward fragrances.
That's right.  I may be addicted to shopping at Ulta.

For the details on what I picked up this month at Ulta and how I spent my rewards points, check out the video below!

  3. There was an announcement from ULTA on the inside front cover of the catalogue I received in mid-April. Here's what it says:

"Your fabulous new ULTAmate Rewards features!

    FLEXIBILITY
    - Simpler earning rate
    - Rewards points are good for a FULL YEAR from the date you earn them

    CHOICES
    - New Reward Options: you can now redeem with as little as 100 points! Or, if you want, save up for something really big
    - Happy Birthday Bonus: Earn DOUBLE points on all your purchases during your birthday moth. Remember to provide your birth date to our store associates or update your profile at ulta.com

    PLATINUM HAS ITS PERKS
    - Upgrade to Platinum status by spending $350 or more per year (that's less than $30 per month!)
    - Earn points 25% FASTER
    - Platinum points NEVER EXPIRE
    - Receive a special gift in your BIRTHDAY MONTH

The easiest part is you don't need to do a thing!"

Other than that, I've heard nothing about a Sephora-style rewards program. I'm in CA, but it wouldn't make sense for the rewards program to differ between states, so I think these changes apply to all rewards members. :)

  5. They just changed it already tiffany... I got an e-mail yesterday and they apparently recalculated my points. I had no idea they were going to recalculate ! I went from over 1000 points to a little over 200. So disappointed with Ulta...

  7. They have two different reward programs based on the area you live. I moved from the Midwest to the southeast and I had to get a new card, because the program wasn't the same. I don't know if all programs will now be the same.

  10. I got something in the mail about things changing at ULTA too. I've never had the patience to save up my points, so, I keep using them as soon as I have a coupon. I kept wondering how you get free perfume...so confused..I finally broke down the other day and bought some of the Revlon Lip Butters at Ulta..

  11. I have asked the sales associates at ULTA about getting the $40 credit towards a fragrance and they looked at me like I was crazy and said I must be thinking about another store. I thought it was kind of rude the way they responded. I live in San Diego so maybe it's different here?

  12. I've been looking at the Benefit cream also. Been wondering whether to give it ago bearing in mind my skin type. Now I will!

  13. It's different at the Ulta here in Texas too. We have the sample rewardsystem....6 levels with the highest level earning items to choose from like a $20 revlon curling iron. I also asked about the $40 perfume credit and the the store manager said that was only for the stores in certain region of the country.

  14. I've been hearing a ton about BB creams lately and wondered if you might be doing a tutorial/review of them any time soon? I always trust your judgment and would live to know what you think before I buy!

  17. I've always wanted to try Ulta. Unfortunately there isn't one close to me. :(

About BB Cream. I use it and I think it's great stuff!! It has a lighter scent than a lot of foundations, which is nice for me cause I get easily irritated by scents. It also feels and looks more natural than foundations. Some foundations look kind of powdery after drying. BB Cream looks more like skin and is good about filling in enlarged pores, so they disappear when you wear it. :) I totally recommend it. You can usually find it reasonably priced on Amazon or Ebay. :)

  18. I had the same rewards program as you (with the possibility of $40 off perfume) and mine just switched...

My most recent catalogue included a little booklet detailing the changes.

    100 $3 off
250 $8 off or a Free Targeted Skin Treatment $20 value
500 $17.50 off or Free OPI Gel Nail Service $25 value
750 $30 off or Free Full Service Dermalogica Skin Treatment $55 Value
1000 $50 off or Free Signature Haircut, Style & Targeted Skin Treatment $65 Value
2000 $125 off or Free Haircut, Style & Hair color glaze OR accent highlights & full service Dermalogica Skin Treatment

1 point per dollar... with monthly bonus opprunities, 2x points in your birthday month.

After spending $350 in a calendar year you reach Platinum and earn 1.25 points per dollar, your points never expire and you receive a special birthday gift.

I'm very disappointed! There was a one time use certificate included for 2x points for one purchase between 4/22 and 5/13... but still!

  24. I am ecstatic to have come across your make-up tutorials! I have never spent much time on my make-up or hair and had no clue where to even begin. As I have started watching your videos, I am gaining interest and finding that I am trying new techniques as I get ready for the day! I am going to purchase the Paris palette and just wanted to say Thank You Tiffany for opening up these new fun-filled doors!
