I keep wanting to say "rollers" in all the titles for the current video/post/tweets on the subject.
...and something always tells me to go with "curlers".
Ok, enough with the words, Tiffany.
I really love using hot rollers/curlers. I mastered the use of them early in my high school years and never looked back. So much so that the thought of using of a curling iron was crazy to me. (I didn't learn to use one of those babies until just a few years ago.) Anyway, I find that knowing how to use both is a good thing because they actually yield much different results.
I love using a curling iron when I have some extra time on my hands to get ready and when I want more defined, deliberate, "vertical" looking curls.
When I only have about five to ten minutes on my hands to actually mess with my hair, I go with hot curlers. I can get these babies in my hair in five minutes, then do my makeup and finish getting ready while they "set" in my hair. I love them. The result? Beautiful, soft curls that last all day.
To see exactly how I use mine and to get some tips on how to get the best results from them, check out my tutorial below.

Tiffany
Hi~I'm pretty sure most call them hot rollers. That's what I call them. People know what you're talking about either way. ;)
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great like that!

Thanks for the tutorial. This has confirmed my need for hot rollers! I love curls but can never be bothered with my curling iron.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post. I recently bought a set of hot rollers but they didn't come with the clips & wasn't sure where I could find some, so now I'll just head on over to Sally's & see if I can pick some up. We live in podunk so the closest Ulta is an hour away. Again, thanks for the video!
ReplyDeleteIt does look effortless and great on you. It's a pretty alternative to straight hair without being too curly.
ReplyDeletedo you have the shopping information on the basket to store your clips? i have used hot rollers for years and i love them. thank you for the video!!
ReplyDeleteGreat tutorial and useful too. I liked it and thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreat tut! xx

Growing up & living in the South, I always heard them called "hot curlers". My mom would always say "curlers". It's just the Southern belle coming out in you when you refer to them as curlers. I also say 'buggy' instead of shopping cart. Again, another Southern saying....Gotta love the South!!
ReplyDeletebought myself a set of hot rollers for xmas and they are awesome! i love being able to do my makeup while my hair is setting.i gotta say those pins that come with it are crap and leave those nasty dents. gotta go get some of those clips.i use tresemme curl activator to keep the curls from falling flat throughout the night.it seems to work very well.
ReplyDelete@Sabrina LOL I say "buggy". My husband used to tease me about it, but now that's what he calls them too.
ReplyDeleteI lost my same set of hot rollers in a move about a year ago...and while I've been sad, I haven't bought a replacement set yet! I'll have to look for a similar set in stores!
ReplyDeleteI need to go get some hot rollers. I've always loved this look but never had the patience to do it. I also have straight blonde hair and I find that when I curl it, it goes straight again within an hour. Do you recommend any products/ techniques that can prevent this from happening? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWondering if you would share your Etsy source for the bag you keep your roller clips in. I love it and would like to buy a couple of them. Thanks! PS, You've inspired me to go back to using hot rollers, I love curling my hair and haven't used them in years.
ReplyDeleteBlog fake picture Tiffany? Look at the blog www.madeinmakeup.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteSorry, I do not speak English
Don't use hot rollers! It's much faster to use a 1 inch ceramic curling iron! You get the same curl but with more shine!
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks gorgeous! I've been meaning to pick up some hot rollers. (p.s. I say rollers). Thanks for sharing, always love your videos
ReplyDeleteYou are so pretty! I was wondering if you could share where you got the gray striped shirt you're wearing in the video? It's so cute!

ReplyDelete...as soon as I saw the clear plastic lead of the box I was so excited because I have the same ones, and I've had them probably well over five years. I also have the same clips and I set them the same way! I don't know why I'm so excited about this... crazy! :)))) I just need to get a similar bag because it is a pain to unzip, put them in, etc. Love your blog!!!
