It doesn't have any noticeable shimmer or real sheen to it, however, it's not totally matte. It just looks really natural.

I got the faux gold from M.A.C. too and I'm really kind of bummed about it. It's not nearly as gold and yellowy and nice as yours, it has a lot more black in it. And I had it for a few weeks before I saw your tutorial and everything, so I'm not even sure I could exchange it now. It's still a nice color, but I can't get that gorgeous effect you can. :(
