Here are some of my favorite products for makeup removal
Makeup wipes: INVENTED BY GOD. Quick. Simple. Effective. Best part is that you don't have to rinse anything off. If you're tired at night or in a hurry, you can skip cleansing all together as well! Just be sure to store them upside down so the one you grab will always be the most moist!

MAC Wipes:
In my opinion, a little more moist and abrasive than typical makeup wipes. Be careful with these if you have sensitive skin and be gentle with them around the eye area. I especially love that they come in a bulk size so you have to repurchase less often.

Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes "Night Calming" formula:
These are great-- They smell amazing, leave minimal residue behind, and will take off everything. The cloths are very soft and smooth and the formula is very non-irritating.
Oils: Quite scary to those of us who are prone to breaking out when we use products that contain oils. But they can be very effective. Just stay away from those that contain mineral oil.
MAC Cleanse-Off Oil:This stuff is amazing. It really is effective in removing everything, however, it takes a bit of time to use.
Use it on dry skin with dry hands and massage it all over your face and eyes. Then, add some water to your hands and mix that with the product. This will help it break down the makeup even better and rinse off clean. You can even add a little more to wet hands and the product will become very thin and turn milky white. You can use it this way as well to get an even cleaner feel. There's no need to use a washcloth to rinse. I've experienced zero breakouts during the 3 weeks of using this stuff. I'm hooked.
Gel/Cream Removers:
I haven't tried many actual cream products, other than traditional cold cream which makes me break out a little, but I have found one awesome gel-cream formula that I LOVE.

Estee Lauder Take it Away Gel/Cream makeup remover:
During college, there was a time where I used this for about three years consistently. It's a very clean feeling and fresh-smelling gel/cream that you massage all over your skin. It's safe for use around your eyes too. It's a little hard to rinse off with water alone, so a warm washcloth is the way to go. If used every night, one bottle will last you about 2 months.

Thanks for this post. I'm looking for a new makeup remover.
ReplyDeletei like the regular drugstore one's. i haven't tried the mac one's, but I think they are the same as the drugstore one's just more expensive. That's what I think.
ReplyDeleteI had been looking for a makeup remover, since I'm just now starting to wear a full face of makeup regularly. I went to Walmart and almost bought the Neutrogena night calming to try, but instead I got the original blue one. I really like them. I'm glad I got them and I'm happy that you like that product too :)
ReplyDeleteI do not like the wipes for eyemakeup.. I love Mary Kay oil free eye makeup remover..
ReplyDeleteI loved this video! I always wonder what other people use and I've been looking for something gentle to use on my eyes. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteYou didn't link to the makeup look you're wearing? Could you please? It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou should totally try Clean & Clear's make-up remover towelettes! :"D
ReplyDeleteThe Estee Lauder's my fav. I've been using it for about 2-3 years. It takes off mascara with ease. Love it!
ReplyDeletei use the SHU UEMURA cleansing beauty oil and it is very good too!
ReplyDeleteI think your videos are so helpful... Thank you so much!
ReplyDeleteAwsome tips! I love the feeling of cleaning my skin really well.
ReplyDeleteI use Kibio Fresh Pureness Foam. Kibio is a French organic cosmetics brand. It smells like peppermint and feels soooooo good on the skin ;)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely getting the MAC wipes and the MAC oil, thank you Tiffany :)
ReplyDeletexoxo
I use Sephora Wipes, and it is so great! It takes all the makeup off, and it's great to sensitive eyes! I love it!
ReplyDeletelove your vids, i've got bigtime cobo skin with huge clogged pores but no blackheads, yes there is a difference, anyhoo one thing i started doing a few months ago was applying Bio-oil to my face nightly, in the morning my face is actually glowing and i also noticed a reduction in sebum-production, the reason why it works i think is although you have oily skin ; by applying oil it actually tricks the skin in believing its not drying, i am pretty sure if i had used it during my teenage acne it would have never been so bad, ppl u should really try it, especially during the winter when your skin dries out anyway. oops got a lil long here, anyhoo love your posts :D
ReplyDeleteThanks, I really liked to hear your thoughts on this, as I think it can be a real bother at times.
ReplyDeleteI haven't found any makeup remover wipes that have done the job without being too abrasive on my cheeks, which are sensitive. I'll give MAC cleanse off oil a chance I think :)
Eye Makeup Remover -Sonia Kashuk - The latest HG in the evolution of eye makeup removers! Gentle as rain, none of the blinding oily after affects of your more expensive waterproof removers and with the ability to melt chrome off a bumper with a cherub kiss of an application. Lancôme's Bi-facil got me through those college years of "The Cure" inspired eyeliner, then Pond's "Bare and Repair" made it look like weenie water! Thanks Ponds for giving the X Factor to yet another great product-Jeeze! So with Bare and Repair gone for good, this is the only option for those of us who don't own a never ending, $free supply of Bi-facil. Besides, ounces to the dollar this kicks Lancôme's French derrière all the way to Paris and back. So load up on waterproof Dior Show and MAC Fluidline ladies this one really works the pole when it comes to cheap strippers. (target.com) You will rarely see it on the shelf.
ReplyDelete*As a TV/ Film Union Artist I would never endorse a product I do not truly believe in. (target.com)
I have the bobbi brown cleansing oil which is prob really similar, makes the skin feel so fresh!
ReplyDeleteI use the MAC wipes! I love them! I'm going to try MAC cleansing oil.. Thanks for the tips! Materialgirls23.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteI use "Loreal Dermo-Expertise Eye makeup Remover" It's really good, it comes off in one clean swipe. and it conditions your eye lashes Exp. with waterproof makeup. The only thing i dont like it, is that is kind of greasy. If you wash your face after you get all the makeup, it shouldnt bother. But if you dont, then its greesy.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try the mac ones. (:

Hi Tiffany! Thank you so much for making this post, I've been looking for a new makeup remover. Haha, I totally know what you mean about people complaining about how cleansers don't remove their makeup! Such a pet peeve!
ReplyDeleteCheck out my blog if you have a chance, I mentioned you today! It's an experimental blog that ties in beauty/makeup/fashion with a huge lifestyle change. Thanks a million!

tiffany suggest me a moisturizer for my acne prone dry skin! :(
ReplyDeleteHi....I have been use for long time on my eyes baby Johnson's shampoo,it 's the best for take eye's makeup, you have to trie.....it's THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!Tatiana.
ReplyDeleteI completely agree proper makeup removal and facial cleansing is essential.
ReplyDeleteI hear DHC cleansing oil makeup remover, a Japanese brand, is really great, too. I'm not sure if it's avail. in N. America, tho.
ReplyDelete*Shiseido Pureness Refreshing Cleansing Sheets Oil-Free/Alcohol-Free;
ReplyDelete*Clean and Clear Makeup Dissolving Facial Cleansing Wipes;
*NIVEA Visage Eye Make-up Remover; and
*Olay Mascara + Make-up Remover.
These bottom 2 are very creamy and you dont have to rub them too much on and around your eyes; make up easily comes off.
I use Walgreens brand make-up wipes. They are like $4.99 for 30 wipes. They do a great job of removing my make-up. I also like to use Olay's daily facials. (The ones that you have to add water to the cloth, not the pre-moist ones). I usually always follow up with my regular Purpose cleanser, though.
ReplyDeletegreat post, iv heard the MAC wipes are good!
ReplyDeleteHey Tiffany!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info. I haven't tried the MAC wipes quite yet, but I think I'll try them out. I've been using Neutrogena remover in the bottle, and although I like it, all of my wash clothes are stained with black! :p.
I know what you mean about the MAC wipes. I was in a MAC testing out some things and I got one to wipe my hands. The make up came off so easily, so I thought I would try and get the make up of my coat. It is like a duck feather filled quilt puffa jacket so it is fine to get a little damp! Hay Presto it wiped straight off. Not even dry cleaning got it off... What do they put in the wipes??? I think I am scared to use them on my face now!

You are very similar to singer Celine Dion!

ReplyDeleteGreat review, Thanks!! I love the MAC wipes as well, but for anyone looking for a cheap alternative the ELF Wipes from their studio line work just as well and they are $3.00 for 20 wipes. Also the Sonia Kashuk eye makeup remover is awesome!!
ReplyDelete~Jill
Yay for new videos =)))
ReplyDeleteALWAYS HELPFUL,,,THX XX
ReplyDeleteLove love love makeup wipes! I started using the Boots drugstore brand while I was in the UK over the summer, because just like you mentioned they are great for traveling!
ReplyDeleteThe Boots Essentials wipes are fragrance free so they're great for people with sensitive skin. I bought like 5 packs in the airport before leaving but was happily surprised to find they're available at Target in the US!
Very helpful, thank you for your review.

Unscented Baby Wipes.. if its good for a baby's bottom its good for my face, I used to be into the MAC wipes hardcore but, I had to cut back and I have them only for my kit.. but for me baby wipes does the trick! gets everything off in one swipe.

ReplyDeleteadult washcloths
i happened to be at walgreens and they had the NEUTROGENA "one step gentle cleanser" on sale for $2... this is actually a makeup remover + a cleanser and its oil free ... i really love this product, it takes waterproof mascara off very nicely it wont sting if it gets into your eyes and it wont leave your face with that harsh feeling... i absolutely love this product... very gentle into your skin!!!
ReplyDeletewhat eye shadow have you used here? they are so pretyy? could you plz tell me? thanks
ReplyDeleteFor some reason I just cannot stand to use make-up remover wipes. Whenever I try them I always end up using two because I feel like one gets the bulk off but then I end up using a second one to like make sure all the traces of make-up are gone. And even then my skin still doesn't feel clean, although it probably is. I don't know; I'm just weird about remover wipes. I have been using the Maybelline waterproof eye make up remover (it's in a clear-ish bottle with pink writing and a pink cap) for years now to wipe away eye make up and then use a face wash (which I try different ones all the time, but I always have a Clean & Clear bottle of sensitive skin cleanser around). I'm intrigued by the cleansing oil though...I may have to give that a whirl.
