Blu-Ray nails... kind of.

Sally Hansen HD Hi-Definition nail color in "Blu"

When I was last at the drugstore, this "HD" line of brightly colored nail polishes really stood out to me. Mostly this blue shade. Since blue is my absolute favorite color, I had to pick this stuff up. The actual color is much more unique than it photographs.
While the shade range of these HD polishes are insanely bright and unique, I have a few complaints about the actual formula. To me, it seemed (in this shade at least) to be a bit thin and applied a little streaky. It was hard to get an even first coat. The first coat was extremely sheer. I was really disappointed at first. But after applying the second coat, it looked beautiful. Pictured is only two coats however, next time I'll probably try three just to make the color even more intense.
If you like bright, unique colors, this line is something to try! I might go back for the green and orange shades.

  1. I've got all the first line of the HD polishes, and the thinness runs through all of them. The green is by far the worst. Once you build them up enough, they're gorgeous.

  3. I have that same color. I knew I had to have it when I saw pictures online. It is pretty, but I also wish it wasn't so sheer.
And it almost cost as much as an OPI polish for me.

  5. I have that exact same colors. The colors are gorgeous but I hate it that they're so sheer. I guess it's why I never bought more, I had to put at least 4 coats to get the intesity of the color.

  6. That one is my fave of the HD line! You do need at least 3 coats but it's so worth it! The yellow one is a good one, too, because it has more of a gold sheen than just regular yellow. Goldish yellow.

  7. What a fun color! Isn't it a bummer when you find a shade that you love, only to have the consistency suck? The two coats look very nice, though!

  9. I actually won the whole line from Temptalia. I love the colors, but like you, I found the formula really think & streaky. I was super disappointed in the fact that I had to paint on so many layers to make them wearable. However, they are so fun to dress up with random designs. It hides the fact that I can't get it perfectly even.

This is totally unrelated to this blog post but I'm too lazy to find your post about how your favorite eye primer from benefit is getting discontinued. Found this article

about the new primer that Benefit will be coming out with in the Spring. Hope you find it helpful/useful :)
