YSL Sephora Holiday Set Review!

A few weeks ago when my Sephora Holiday catalogue came, this is the main thing that caught my eye. Partly because of the full-sized Touche Eclat brightener/concealer which is one of those items that I've been eyeing for the longest time. But I can never justify becuase it's a hefty $40. I'd be lying if I said that the pretty YSL-logoed clutch bag it comes with was definitely a big part of why I bought this as well.

In the set you get:
-full sized Touche Eclat in the lightest shade (a brightening pink), normally $40
-full sized Golden Gloss, no. 10- Golden Peony, normally $29
-Trial Size of Luxurious Mascara in No.1 Black
- Deluxe Trial Size of Long-Lasting Eye Pencil in No.1 Black
- Black Clutch

This was a no-brainer for me, because all of the items are things are very wearable. None of the items in the kit will go to waste-- I mean, I could always use another black mascara and liner! And the gloss is absolutely gorgeous. I love that it has the yummy watermelon-kiwi (-ish) scent like most YSL lip products do. It also is pretty long lasting for a gloss. I think that's because of the shimmer, which can actually be a bit gritty if you're not used to it. Plus, the Touche Eclat was something I had been lusting over for a while. Added up, the gloss and Touche Eclat are $69!! The kit was $60, so I felt like it was worth it. Plus, did I mention the bag is actually really nice? You could actually get away with carrying it as a clutch. And it's huge! Check out the size of it below-- much larger than I expected.

Yeah, $60 seems a bit pricey, but I feel that it's a great deal for what you get. Definitely if you've been considering the Touche Eclat. You can get this at sephora.com (with free shipping!) or at Sephora stores that sell YSL cosmetics.

  13. darn this is so tempting! but I recently made a BAD purchase at the duty free - 3 PINK dior glosses...sure, I'll use them all, but I thought one of those colors were nude, but it wasn't! I was probably just too jetlagged...so I can't justify purchasing ANOTHER pink lipgloss! gah~

  18. Thanks to you, I'm going to buy my first ever set of professional make up brushes by Sigma. QUESTION: I've never purchased anything but drugstore cosmetics. I can't afford a whole lot of MAC cosmetics, but could you tell me what you would recommend to someone like myself as far as eye make up must haves to start out with? I'm blond w/fair skin and blue eyes (lots of lid room!). I love browns, greys, blues and golds. I really need help with a good set of eye shadow recommendations.

    THANK YOU!!!!
    Andrea

  25. Hey Tiffany, I love your videos. It helps me not waste a lot of money buying every product out there just to see which one works better. I see that you love MAC brushes and I love them too. However have you tried the brushes from Smashboxes. I have heard they might be better than MAC brushes, so can you please tell me your opinion on them.

  26. I got this during the Sephora F&F sale. :D I love it, though the mascara that came in the set was completely dryed out. Still extremely worth it though!

  27. Hi Tiffany! Thanks for the review!
It's a pity they don't send to Europe, but only Canada and the States...
Here the Christmas set by YSL at Sephora only contains a Touch Eclat with a very tiny bag...
Anyways, love your blog and vids!

  29. Hey Spanishdoll,

maybe you could try www.shipito.com if you live in Europe. they can receive your Sephora orders in the US and send them to your address. It worked for me and it is very convenient.

  30. FYI:
For those who LOVE 'That Gal' primer by Benefit, Sephora has a set "Bright Lights Big City" for $35 (think about it.. just the primer costs $28) and in this set you get 0.37 oz "That Gal" Face Primer, BADgal Blue Mascara, Eye Bright pencil and white leatherette travel mirror.
NOW, here's a better deal: Sephora also has a set called "Benefit To Go Beauty Bestsellers" for only $10!! Besides all the little samples you get (Posietint, Some Kind-A Gorgeous, High Beam) you also get "That Gal" primer 0.25 oz. Now this is a AWESOME deal bc it's only 0.12oz smaller than the $28 size!

So, if you buy three of these $10 sets, you get twice the size!

Tiffany's got me hooked on "That Gal" primer and I can't get enough of compliments about my skin's complexion and healthy glow, so THANK YOU DEAR! :-)))
