NEW Sigma Brushes (SS188, SS109)

I have been SO excited for these new Sigma brushes for months! Since the MAC 188 and 109 are two of my favorite brushes, I was super excited, and skeptical at the same time that my beloved 188 and 109 could never be replicated. Since I absolutely love all my other Sigma brushes and the quality on them are amazing, I guess I wasn't that shocked that these were no different.

(MAC on left, Sigma on right)
(My MAC 188 had just been washed, so it looks a little more spiky.)
Honestly, the only difference I noticed between the 188's were the handle lengths. The Sigma SS188 handle is slightly longer.
MAC 188, $34
Sigma SS188, $14
I love these particular brushes for applying liquid foundation or any type of cheek color or highlight.

The only noticeable difference between these two is that the Sigma brush is less flat on the top. When used, it feels exactly the same and delivers the same results.
MAC 109, $32
Sigma SS109, $14
I love these particular brushes for applying/blending liquid foundation, cream or powder cheek color, contouring, and highlighting.

They've also released a new version of the SS182 brush, now with a longer handle.

Yay! I'm glad the brushes are available now! I had a quick question for you Tiffany, would you suggest getting the SS187 or the SS188 first, if you could only choose one? Thank you:)

I just ordered the SS109 before I saw your blog post. I'm glad to hear that it delivers the same results as the MAC one. I can't wait to get it!

I think I'm going to purchase some of these brushes! they look exactly the same as the MACs. what is the difference in texture?

Makeup Rage: I love it too! It's very similar to the old SS182 I have already, texture-wise. It just has the longer handle so it makes it easier to work with :)

Hafsa: Both brushes can be used for very different things, so it just depends on what you are wanting the brush to do. For applying blush and powder products, the SS187 will do a better job. For applying liquid foundation, the SS188 is a little easier in my opinion for that. But you can use both for either purpose! So it's just all up to you!

ClassyDea66: There is no difference in texture...especially with the SS188. The SS109 is slightly softer, but just as dense. It's just the actual material of the brush that feels a little softer and slicker. :)

I need to buy some brushes!

They ship internationally. You can find the costs on the website. For a single brush it was about 5 of 6 dollars for international shipping.

Hi Tiffany--Thanks for introducing us to these brushes! I got mine today and was super excited. They feel so soft and the quality looks amazing. Did you have a problem washing yours though? I had no problem with my SS109, but I was in the bathroom for 30 minutes trying to wash my SS150...a light brownish color kept coming out no matter how much I kept washing...
