MUFE Mat Velvet+ Foundation $34 (I'm shade 30/Porcelain)

  1. Ahh I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't like MUFE HD! I too felt it didn't provide enough coverage.. it didn't cover redness at all. Come back to Specktra! We miss you :( Its vocaltest off there if you remember me lol! x

  2. Thanks for the great review! I have dry skin, which means I can have uneven texture. The MUFE HD seemed to cling to every pore and flake on my face. It looked HORRIBLE- I can't even describe how it pitted on my skin- even with a primer. I have never had a liquid foundation do anything like that. I look forward to trying the Mat Velvet+ when I hit Sephora!

  3. It's so true! Lately I've only been using my MUFE HD because it's the lightest foundation I have (and I stopped tanning soo yeah = paleness). I don't have breakouts but a lot of redness in my cheeks and i always have to put concealer on over the foundation and then it starts looking bad. For something that claims to be HD it doesn't nearly have enough coverage!

  4. Hi Tiffany,

Quick question, would the 109 brush work with the Mat Velvet foundation as well, or no? Also, I think you mentioned it (don't remember) but is this foundation particularly good for oily skin? I'm like you, I have very oily skin and hate liquid foundation because of how it feels on my skin 3-5 hours later, due to my oily skin.

    Thanks :)

  6. Thanks so much for this review, Tiffany..! I heard so many good reviews about the HD that i went to buy it. and I apply it using a beauty blender. the results were awesome. but I have an oily T zone so after 3 hours.... my HD turns all gross on my T zone but it looks good on my dry cheeks. do you have the same problem with the Mat Velvet? I remember you said you have oily skin too. do you think Mat Velvet really works better for oily skin?

(I used MUFE's All Mat primer underneath the HD foundation.. and it still didn't help my T zone)

  7. I just bought the Mat Velvet+ recently and I love it too! I have oily skin and it has such great staying power. After watching your review, I'm glad I chose it over HD because I really need something that stays on throughout the day.

  8. Hi there, thank you so much for all the reviews. I love the Mat Velvet+ and actually got two of my friends to buy it and they love it too.

I just want to mention that the Mat Velvet + is also Non Comedogenic. If you have problems with acne and blackheads it really helps to use a product that’s non Comedogenic.
That's actually how I started with the foundation. I was on a mission to find a foundation that was Non Comedogenic. It actually does not say it on the container but it's on the box. Make up forever also have a concealer that's Non Comedogenic that I really want try.

  11. Hi, thanks for the review on both of these products! I want to try the mat velvet, but I'm not sure which shade I'd use? Unfortunately I don't live near a Sephora. I'm NW15 in MAC shades.

  13. Hey Tiffany! I came across your blog through youtube! I will definitely be following it from now on:) Despite the price, in Canada it's $46! I absolutely love the MUFE HD foundation, I am in my late 20s and it's flawless on my skin and does not look like I am wearing a mask compared to my back up L'Oreal Foundation. I am latin and have acne prone skin/combination skin and it really flatters my skin. I use it with Mac Select Cover Up concealer in NC30 and finish with a little bit of MUFE HD Microfinish Powder which is really flattering on my skin surprisingly being a white powder. I personally think it's an investment as you don't need a lot at all, just a squeeze out of the tube works for me. I also use a sunscreen as a base for the day underneath with SPF 60 with a product called La Roche-Posay, it works really well underneath and compared to other facial sunscreens it's not as thick. Also I have fine lines underneath my eyes starting to show hehe, their eye cream is amazing, I have already seen results in a couple of days. I agree with Lalaxloca I don't even need to use a lot of concealer with this product. I will try the Mat Velvet! Thanks for sharing your review!

  14. Hi Tiffany- thanks for such a great review!!! I just got the MUF Mat Velvet today at Sephora and was AMAZED at how little I had to use. Up to now I have been using MAC's Studio Fix liquid with Prep and Prime loose powder with a little of the Studio Fix powder ontop of it and STILL didn't get all the coverage I wanted (lots of acne scars and skin discolorations. All I used of the MUF's foundation was a "dab" and didn't even feel the need to set it with a powder!! I am very excited and hope that I am on to something good.... :-)

  16. oh my god are you all retarded! she literally said, "the finish of a foundation is the finish of a foundation"???!!! that makes absolutely NO sense. i'm sorry. i'm not trying to be mean but you know nothing about makeup. i'm sure you love it and are an avid user but you don't know about the chemistry of it what products actually are. I make products for a MASSIVE company and i appreciate your genuine love of cosmetics but jeez- you may want to script this out before you film it. i'm just sayin...so you don't sound like a retard.

  17. Hi, Can you tell me if the mat velvet number 30 is similar to one shade of mac's fundation?

  18. Hi, my name is Belen, the MUF mat velvet + foundation shade in 30 have a dupe on mac's foundations?, for example the studio fix fluid.

  19. I love the make up because i can see my self like a super star, always beautiful and wonderful. I think the make up is the best innovation discovered. I enjoy make up very well when i have a date with a handsome man. For a moment perfect in the sexual activity i recommend you to buy viagra, another great innovation.

  20. You young ladies should try Sally Hansen's spray foundation. It is very light, waterproof for the summer and it just really feels like you have nothing on your face. Its good for oily or dry skin. On your young faces, I'm sure you would love it.
